Our design consultancy arm provides interior and exterior lighting design for both commercial and residential projects. Current and past projects include Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Carton House Hotel, Viking Quarter Waterford Lighting Strategy and a large number of high end residential projects in both in the United Kingdom and here in Ireland.

Why Us?

Most other lighting consultancies are design only, and there are a myriad of supply only companies. But we design and supply. We have a similar model to companies like Focus lighting in the States, and believe having both arms to our business gives us a distinct advantage in our inhouse expertise and ability to create and deliver truly original design. These give us, we believe, three distinct advantages in people, creativity and delivery.

PEOPLE – We believe our diverse range of expertise driven by our design supply structure is a distinct advantage. Our Design team themselves come from engineering, architecture, art, graphic design, and furniture backgrounds. They are supported by our snag and fitting production team,  who in turn work with a large network of support skills including metalworkers, carpenters, electricians and glass manufacturers. From mock-up’s, playing with materials to bespoke fittings production, there’s always expertise, support and a melting pot of ideas.

CREATIVITY – This also feeds into our creativity. We’re hands on, we play with light. To us this is testing lighting with materials, textures, and form which we believe is so important. In addition to our support teams our access to product and our inhouse purpose built 150sqm darkroom give us this ability. These teams give us the ability to mock-up on site, enabling our clients to see and feel our designs.

DELIVERY – You could have the best design in the world but unless you deliver it, by having your scenes set up correctly, fittings focused and set to correct outputs, your design is compromised. We manage these details, and ensure what we designed is realised. Our snag team gives us this ability in doing this to levels others can’t.

How We Work

DO YOU CHARGE FOR CONSULTANCY?

Yes, we charge for consultancy when we take design responsibility.

Our free of charge service includes: standard fitting suggestions and advice, including lighting calculations on our supplied fittings. We do not take responsibility for free of charge calculations.

HOW DOES OUR DESIGN SERVICE WORK?

We are most effective when we take a project from start to finish. We can project manage on your behalf all deliverables (design, supply chain, final site commissioning and install) hence the final outcome and quality for our client, but each individual element also stands alone as a quality service in their own right.

Each of these stand alone services, and our complete, service act in essence as a menu from which you and your client can choose from depending on your project’s needs.

IF YOU ACT AS CONSULTANT, HOW DO WE KNOW WE ARE GETTING THE BEST FITTINGS SPECIFIED AND YOU ARE NOT JUST TRYING TO SELL PRODUCT?

As consultants we are committed to providing the very best outcomes to your project.

Our clients always have a choice to work with us on suggested products or to go elsewhere for equivalents. We can issue our specifications equal and approved, provide testing and evaluation of alternatives where required and provide a full evaluation report.

For specification, if there is an appropriate product for a particular application within our design we will specify product from our range. If not we will (and do) specify from other suppliers, for areas where we can’t provide fittings or based on client preferences. We will always get a sample of any fitting we specify and test it in our darkroom facilities.
