I am so excited to share with you our latest project – Terrace House! This recently completed house project is a perfect example of how lighting can transform not only a space but how it’s experienced. We were brought in right at the start, just after the client purchased the home, to assess the potential from both a natural and artificial lighting perspective. Collaborating closely with the architect and builder, we focused first on maximising daylight throughout the home, ensuring the architecture worked with — not against — the light. It’s the first step in designing a healthy home: getting the natural light right.
From there, we developed a layered lighting plan based on the principles of healthy lighting — delivering the right light at the right time. The design journey moved from task lighting that supports daytime activity, right through to low-level, calming light that helps guide the body naturally toward rest and sleep. This client, an older homeowner with a strong appreciation for art and design, needed a lighting scheme that would be functional, intuitive, and deeply personal. We created well-lit reading areas, softened bedroom lighting for relaxation, and a specialist art studio space with high colour rendering and low-glare fittings — allowing the client to paint comfortably, day or night.
The exterior posed its own unique challenge. In a built-up area with lovely size back garden space and high glass exposure, we tackled the “Black Mirror” effect — that nighttime reflection in large glass panes — with thoughtfully placed, diffused exterior lighting. At the front, we introduced subtle but secure lighting to ensure a warm welcome without contributing to urban light pollution. Every decision, inside and out, was made with healthy living in mind — lighting designed not just to look good, but to support how we live, feel, and age in our homes.
Our aim is simple: to prove that human-centred lighting design can transform lives.

After gallivanting around the world & getting an education she worked in all areas of the business, and was a natural fit for developing Willie Duggan further. She does her best thinking struggling up a mountain, hiking a trail or beating herself up in the gym!
