SIGNATURE LIGHTING DESIGN TO ENHANCE THE BOUTIQUE HOTEL EXPERIENCE

Hotel Xenia, is a boutique 4-star hotel situated in the heart of South Kensington, London. Housed in a beautifully restored Victorian building on Cromwell Road, the hotel offers a blend of traditional charm and contemporary design, making it a distinctive addition to Marriott’s Autograph Collection. We delivered the façade and interior lighting concept, detailed design, and full lighting supply.

TAILORED ADDITIONS TO THE TRANSFORMATION

DISCOVERY & CONCEPT

For the façade lighting, we conducted a thorough survey to identify key sightlines to the building, ensuring the scheme enhanced the ornate Georgian architecture while creating a strong and welcoming first impression. The design also carefully considered wayfinding, with lighting used to make navigation to and into the building intuitive and seamless. Internally, and in alignment with the client’s vision, we employed concealed lighting to create subtle visual features and highlight existing architectural details.

DESIGN & TECHNICAL PLANNING

We developed a comprehensive concept design for façade lighting as well as internal lighting for selected key areas.
As part of our comprehensive project planning, we prepared a detailed budget that included a “shopping list” of concept options, allowing the client to prioritise lighting investments effectively. Our scope of works included lighting modelling and detailed design for internal spaces, along with full supply of lighting equipment for both façade and interior elements.

CONSTRUCTION & PROCUREMENT

To enable the delivery of each bespoke fitting, detailed technical drawings were produced for the various coffered ceilings and concealed lighting features. Ongoing coordination with contractors on-site guaranteed the smooth delivery at each stage of the project.

REFINEMENT

The continued support on-site of our design team, guaranteed seamless final inspection and project close-out processes. The resulting façade lighting design accentuates key architectural features, serving as a visual beacon that draws attention to the hotel as it’s approached along Cromwell Road.

COMPLETION, HANDOVER & AFTERCARE

Both the internal lighting design and façade lighting were designed and supplied within budget and executed within the stringent timeline.
