We were very lucky to be brought up in a household that believed anything is possible. Dad gave us that belief, and we carry it with us in everything we do. It’s a philosophy we live by every day here at Willie Duggan Lighting.
This belief isn’t just a guiding principle—it’s our foundation. As lighting designers, we understand something that is often overlooked: light has a profound impact on our health, well-being, and the way we experience the world.
Light is life, whether it streams through the windows as natural daylight or comes to life as carefully crafted artificial light. Yet, for all its importance, light is too often misunderstood, poorly designed, and inadequately specified. Our mission is to change that.
Lighting design should go beyond function. It should elevate spaces, enhance health, and bring beauty into our daily lives. Human-centric design lies at the heart of our work. We refuse to be boxed in by conventional standards, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in both residential and commercial lighting. From the initial design concept to construction oversight, snagging, and cost control, we provide an end-to-end service unlike any other.
What sets us apart is how hands-on our process is. In our darkroom facilities, clients can experiment with lighting, play with ideas, and see their visions come to life. This isn’t just about designing beautiful spaces—it’s about empowering our clients to understand light, make informed choices, and create something truly extraordinary.
Education is at the core of everything we do. From masterclasses for homeowners to professional courses for industry experts, our goal is to empower people to understand light and become better designers because of it.
We also believe in collaboration and community. That’s why our co-creative space brings together professionals from diverse creative industries. By fostering synergy and cross-disciplinary thinking, we’re ensuring that our ideas and innovations extend far beyond the traditional boundaries of lighting design.

About Monica Duggan
Monica grew up with a screwdriver & bulb in her hands before she started to 'hassle' the boss! After gallivanting around the world & getting an education she worked in all areas of the business, and was a natural fit for developing Willie Duggan further. She does her best thinking struggling up a mountain, hiking a trail or beating herself up in the gym!
